When Life Hands You...a Leaking Pull-Up???

Writer: Catherine Garduno RamirezCatherine Garduno Ramirez

Some of you mommies out there already know where this is going. For those of you who have not had this joy, or do not have little ones yet to present you this opportunity, maybe take notes. 😂

So we have been having this issue with our 2-year-old lately about not wanting to eat his dinner, or all of it. This has been going on for weeks now. Specifically he usually does not want to eat the meat...even if he has had it before and likes it! Why??? I have no idea. So yesterday, instead of letting him get down to play and then possibly be hungry later, I told him he had to sit at the table and eat his chicken (about the size of a half-dollar) or he stays there until bath time. So of course he is crying and screaming like I have put him on the rack. 🙄. This continues for probably another 30 minutes and then he decides to get out of his chair and stand by the kitchen gate and ask for cheese. I tell him he needs to go sit back down. I am washing dishes and I hear; “OH MY GOSH!!!!” from my hubby.

“What happened?” I wrongly assumed he just threw food on the floor and made a mess.

”He has poop EVERYWHERE!” He shouts back at me. I turn around to see fresh brown clumps falling down his leg from one side of his shorts. My husband gets out of his chair and walks over to him.

”He left a trail from the table! AND IT IS ON HIS HANDS!” He is rushing to grab some baby wipes to try and clean this up. While hubby is racing for the wipes; the toddler takes his “chocolate” covered hands and proceeds to wipes his mouth...TWICE!!!! 🤢

AGGGHHHH!!!! I get out on the other side and watch as he finishes wiping down his hands and leg and takes his clothes off! I told him I would take care of the poop, just go put the kid in the bath. Then my sweet hubby takes the poop filled shorts and THROWS them across the kitchen towards the laundry room. Aaahhhh!!!

Thankfully, the poop remained contained. Next steps, wash the clothes, wipe up the poop trail, disinfect the floors. And the poor baby is screaming through all of this. Toddlers got bathed, house got cleaned, and everyone survived. Moral of the story: always check the pull-up!

How many balls are you juggling?

I am sure I am not the only mom...or parent for that matter, who feels like they have an overflowing plate of responsibility. I know I...
